UPCOMING FEEDER CATTLE SALES FRIDAY, May 26th – “SPECIAL ALL HOLSTEIN & DAIRY CROSS FEEDER CATTLE SALE” FRIDAY, June 9th: “COMBINATION SALE: BEEF/HOLSTEIN FEEDER SALE” FRIDAY, June 23rd: “COMBINATION SALE: BEEF/HOLSTEIN FEEDER SALE” ****SPECIAL NOTE**** In the June through August months, our feeder sales will be every 2nd and 4th Friday of the month, which will all be Beef/Holstein Combination Sales during that time
Here Friday, we had another really nice run of Beef Feeder cattle, on a market that was steady essentially amongst all weight classes of cattle. Now, by calling the market steady, it may appear to be a touch weaker compared to the previous “All Beef Sale”, however the last Beef Feeder Sale Market was on fire, plus a little more. So, in comparison, the market as a whole was steady; the volume of lighter weight cattle is decreasing as we approach summer, as we had a limited test amongst both steers and heifers in the lighter weight feeder numbers Friday. Both a continued weaker dollar as well as exports into China, are two primary factors that will really help keep this market stabil, with the opportunity of growth heading into the summer months. Getting our beef onto the tables of foreign families is one of the many factors to make a huge step in sustaining the longevity of our beef market. Exporting our beef into countries, such as China is vital for the US.
